You are cordially invited to two performances of Menotti’s Christmas opera, Amahl and the Night Visitors, on Saturday, Dec. 9th at 7 PM and Sunday, Dec. 10th at 4 PM. The opera is around 50 minutes long and there is no admission charge. The main roles will be sung by 10-yr. old Henry Dyck (Amahl); Lara Troyer (Amahl’s mother); Mist’a Craig, Carl Jenks, Frank Ward (the three kings); and Jack Lentz (the page). The director is Anne Wilson, and the Forest Hill Chancel Choir comprises the community of peasants. The story is about Amahl, a disabled boy who can walk only with a crutch, who has a problem with telling tall tales. He and his mother are visited by the Three Kings, and a miracle occurs. All will be deeply moved by this poignant story and sublime music.
