OHIO YOUTH ENSEMBLE STAGE (OHYES) ANNOUNCES REGISTRATION OPEN 
FOR ONLINE MUSICAL ‘SUPER HAPPY AWESOME NEWS!’
The Ohio Youth Ensemble Stage (OHYES) announces registration is open for the online musical SUPER HAPPY AWESOME NEWS! With book by Jessica Penzias and music & lyrics by Denver Casado, the musical is written to be rehearsed remotely, performed virtually, and shared with audiences online. The production will be directed by Nate Sayatovich. Registration ends October 10. Rehearsals begin October 12 and continue through November 6. The performance will be online about two weeks after rehearsals end. First-time participants are encouraged to audition. There is a $100 participation fee for any student in the cast. The fee helps to defray the program costs, and every child receives a t-shirt and a souvenir prop microphone for the show. Every student actor will receive a free pass to watch the show online. There is financial assistance available for any child who demonstrates a need.

SUPER HAPPY AWESOME NEWS! is presented through special arrangement with Beat by Beat Press (www.bbbpress.com). The show was created during the COVID-19 pandemic. SUPER HAPPY AWESOME NEWS! was made specifically for all the young performers and communities affected by this unprecedented circumstance. The Ohio Youth Ensemble Stage past productions include Frozen JR., Alice in Wonderland, Shrek the Musical Jr., and others. Students from Cuyahoga, Medina, and Summit counties regularly participate in the program.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR 
Nate Sayatovich, a New York-based director, formerly worked in the education department at The Cleveland Play House, the recent recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award. 
 
ABOUT THE Ohio Youth Ensemble Stage 
Ohio Youth Ensemble Stage is a program for children from elementary through high school age. The program offers theatre classes, and a fully-produced musical production each summer. Participation is open to all students, regardless of ability, and financial assistance is available to those who qualify. We encourage first time participants and believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience the performing arts. The program is funded by participation fees, corporate and local sponsorships.
