Young Performers
Cleveland Play House, America’s first regional theatre and recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award, is accepting applications for a Young Performer Supervisor
to work on our production of A Christmas Story from Tuesday, November 19 through Monday, December 23, 2019. This Supervisor will work with a lead Young Performer Supervisor on the daily management of seven young performers and three young understudies
on the production.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified applicants must be able to follow instructions, be reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
- Experience working with children required.
- Experience working in stage management or run crew on live theatre productions is a plus.
- The Young Performer Supervisor will need to pass a criminal background check prior to first day of employment.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate with parents/guardians of young performers on a daily basis.
- Report any issues concerning young performers to stage manager in a timely manner.
- Oversee drop-off and pick-up of young performers by their parents/guardians in rehearsal hall and theatre.
- Ensure that young performers properly complete their role during rehearsals and performances
- Collaborate with the lead Young Performer Supervisor to establish a consistent track for the young performers during performances.
- Oversee completion of school work when young performers are not actively in rehearsal/performance (supervisor is not expected to act as a tutor, but is expected to
keep young performers focused).
- Assist in running lines and reviewing blocking as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by stage management.
Hours are mostly nights and weekends with some morning and afternoon calls. Part-time, seasonal.
