Day One: One Hour Drama
Alex will begin with a review of his Audition Preparation Guide followed by “rules” of TV Drama from his Bootcamp course. Then day one will be concluded with a Self-Tape Seminar. For the Self-Tape Seminar everyone will receive a scene prior to, and are required to submit a self-tape. Self-tapes will be reviewed and feedback will be given. Students will then have the opportunity to work live for the group based on the feedback given from their self-tapes. Then students will get a second chance to take more redirects from Alex. Each student will get the opportunity to work live multiple times.
Day Two: TV Comedies and Dramedy
Day two will begin with a review of the Multi-Cam “rules” as well as the hybrid Dramedy “rules” from Alex's Bootcamp course. Students will be given a scene in advance. The day of, students will get paired up and be given a short opportunity to rehearse. Partners will then work their scenes “live” on stage, get notes throughout, and work again. The styles we will focus on will be Multi-Cam, Aaron Sorkin and Amy Sherman-Palladino. Students will be split into either a Multi-Cam group or Aaron Sorkin/Amy Sherman-Palladino group. All review notes will be shared with the whole group.
We will close the workshop with a Q&A with Alex.
