Beck Center for the Arts Youth Theater, one of the oldest continuously running Youth Theaters in the country, will be holding auditions on February 9 & 10, 2019 for the final production of our 70th Anniversary Season:

Seussical

Based on the Works of Dr. Seuss

Music & Book by Stephen Flaherty

Lyrics & Book by Lynn Ahrens

Co-conceived by Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty, & Eric Idle

Directed and Choreographed by Sarah Clare

Music Direction by Jordan Cooper

The Story:

See all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters brought to life in this colorful musical. The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant, who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers while guarding an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.
