Show Dates:  March 11 - April 3, 2022  Performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 2pm
Story:  These Shining Lives chronicles the strength and determination of women considered expendable in their day, exploring their true story and its continued resonance. Catherine and her friends are dying, it’s true; but theirs is a story of survival in its most transcendent sense, as they refuse to allow the company that stole their health to kill their spirits—or endanger the lives of those who come after them.

Cast:  4 Women, 2 Men   Age ranging from mid 20’s to early 30’s.  Mr. Reed can be a bit older.
All characters with the exception of Catherine play multiple roles in this poignant retelling of the historic events surrounding the young woman who worked in the clock factories in the early 20th century. Even as their health was being tragically compromised by unsafe work conditions, these women found the courage to stand up and fight back.
Catherine Donohue – The newest employee at Radium Dial, Catherine is conscientious, friendly, hard-working, and hopeful. Devoted to her husband and her young twins, she is determined to improve the financial security of her family.
Charlotte – (also plays Reporter 1) Charlotte comes with a big personality and holds nothing back when it comes to her opinions and biting wit.  She’s competitive and outspoken, and makes it her business to know everyone’s story.
Frances – (also plays Reporter 2, Official) Straightforward, honest, and friendly, with a gift for sarcasm, Frances is one of the more experienced workers at the factory, and does her best to keep Charlotte in line.  She proves herself to be a loyal, supportive friend.
Pearl – (also plays Daughter, Judge 2) A giggler and teller of jokes…which often fall flat…Pearl is well-intended. While perhaps a bit more naïve and timid than her co-workers, she comes through in her own way.
Tom Donohue – (also plays Dr Rowntree, Dr. Dalitsch) Tom clearly adores his wife, Catherine, and is a good father to the twins. Hard-working and charming, he has his misgivings about his wife taking on a fulltime job, especially at a time when a man was expected to be the sole breadwinner for his family.
Mr. Reed – (also plays Radio Announcer, Company Doctor, Son, Judge 1, Leonard Grossman) The manager of the women at the clock factory, Mr. Reed is exacting and demanding. While not without a sense of humor, he makes it clear that he’s more interested in profit and production than people.
