Cleveland Play House, America’s first regional theatre and
recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award, is accepting applications
for a Scenic Artist. The Scenic Artist’s
primary responsibility is to assist the Charge Scenic Artist in mixing colors,
creating samples, and executing the treatments for all scenic elements for a 7
show mainstage season, 2 MFA shows and a festival of new works. Qualified
candidates must be knowledgeable in realistic faux finishes such as marbling,
wood graining, ageing and distressing, also 3D texturing, cartooning, and
staining. The ability to take direction well, work independently, and lift
50lbs is required. Ideal applicants will be collaborative, flexible, positive,
and communicative. A minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience,
preferably in regional theatre, is required. Position is full-time, seasonal,
and eligible for benefits. Contract runs August 27, 2018 to May 12, 2019. Email
