Here’s a fun way for your youngest students to get their start in theatre! This non-stressful approach to basic acting, singing, and movement will teach your littlest stars to twinkle! Students will work on imagination, memorization and teamwork, as well as the technical basics of putting on a show.
SHAKESPEARE SHAKE-UP & STAGE COMBAT
10-18 year olds

Swordplay, wordplay, and a lot of fun—all the ingredients for a total Shakespeare Shake-Up! In this introduction to the life and works of the master himself, students will get a glimpse into the days of William Shakespeare and his influence on theatre today. Students will interpret text, act out words and learn the basics of safe and realistic stage combat in an imaginative, non-intimidating way! Students will learn: how to punch, slap, choke, kick, fall, tumble, sword fight and most importantly, how to sell the reaction. Students will also learn the basics of swordplay (correct stance, advancement, and more!). Safety guidelines will be emphasized, with parent permission slips. Previous acting experience strongly recommended.
INTRO TO THEATRE

This one day, three-hour workshop is designed for students who are interested in the arts but may not have time for our regular classes. This workshop includes theatre/acting basics, short scenes, a back-stage tour featuring costumes and props, brief theatre history/terms, and much more! This stress-free introduction to the theatre world is perfect for all ability levels. Students must have basic reading skills for this class.
AWESOME ACTING and AUDITIONS

9:30 a.m.— 12:30 p.m.
Do you want to be more comfortable on stage? Does the mere thought of going to an audition seem scary too? You are not the only one! During this two-day workshop, students will be instructed in improvisation, character work, and basic acting techniques. Students will be given scripts, cold readings and monologues. They will also learn how to prepare an audition in this fun, relaxing, stress-free class. There will be a mock audition included in this class (on Mar. 24) . Bring any materials you have been working on and we will send home materials as well! Students must have basic reading skills for this class. All ability levels welcome, no previous experience needed.
