WHAT to prepare 

Singing Audition: Please bring a resume, headshot and 16-32 measures pf a song not from the show, prepare your sheet music for an accompanist. No acapella or taped music. 

Dance Audition: Be prepared to dance. Men bring jazz shoes, women bring character heels, all bring tap shoes if you tap. If invited to callbacks, scene work, and further music will be given. 

DANCERS: if you are auditioning to DANCE ONLY, no sign up is necessary. Please attend the dance audition on Jan 12, 2020

SYNOPSIS: CATCH ME IF YOU CAN is a musical comedy about chasing your dreams and not getting caught. Seeking fame and fortune, precocious teenager, Frank Abignale, Jr., runs away from home to begin an unforgettable adventure. With nothing more than his boyish charm, a big imagination and millions of dollars in forged checks, Frank successfully poses as a pilot, a doctor, and a lawyer – living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams. When Frank's lies catch the attention of FBI agent, Carl Hanratty, though, Carl pursues Frank across the country to make him pay for his crimes. 

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS 

Frank Abagnale Jr. Male, Character Age: 20 to 30, Tenor, High C5 - Low G2. Our story's conniving protagonist, he is a handsome and youthful con artist. Grew up learning to disappear into another skin to avoid his problems. He eventually falls in love with Brenda and desperately tries to change his ways. Sings: “Live in Living Color,” “The Pinstripes Are All That They See,” “Someone Else's Skin,” “Jet Set,” “Butter Outta Cream,” “My Favorite Time of Year,” “Seven Wonders,” “(Our) Family Tree,” “Goodbye,” and “Stuck Together (Strange But True)” 

Carl Hanratty, Male, Character Age: 35 to 45, Tenor, High G4 - Low G2. An FBI agent leading the investigation and search for Frank Jr. A knowledgeable and habitual workaholic who idolizes the moment he catches his perp. Lives a private life of loneliness and depression. Sings: “Don't Break the Rules,” “The Man Inside the Clues,” “My Favorite Time of Year,” “Little Boy, Be a Man,” and “Stuck Together (Strange But True)” 

Frank Abagnale Sr., Male, Character Age: 45 to 65, Baritone, High G#4/Ab4 - Low F2, Frank Jr.'s father. He is an inspiration when it comes to swindling. Upbeat and fast-talking, he undergoes a series of progressive failures that leaves him a miserable drunk. Sings: “The Pinstripes Are All That They See,” 

“Butter Outta Cream,” “My Favorite Time of Year,” “Don't Be a Stranger,” and “Little Boy, Be a Man” 

Paula Abagnale, Female, Character Age: 45 to 60, Alto, High C5 - Low A3, Frank Jr.'s gorgeous mother. She met Frank Sr. in France, during the war, but has fallen out of love. Caring and loving, with an underlying resentment toward her husband and son. Sings: “My Favorite Time of Year” and “Don't Be a Stranger” 

Brenda Strong, Female, Character Age: 20 to 30, Alto, High A5 - Low G3, A young nurse and Frank Jr.'s eventual love interest. Hard-working and initially insecure, she meets Frank Jr. after running away from a wedding. Comes to trust him, but his true identity clouds her feelings. Sings: “Seven Wonders,” “(Our) 

Family Tree,” and “Fly, Fly Away,” 

Roger Strong, Male, Character Age: 50 to 60, Baritone, High A4 - Low A2, Brenda's conservative father. He is stern and interrogatory but reveals himself to be deeply romantic. Sings: “(Our) Family Tree” 

Carol Strong, Female, Character Age: 45 to 60, Alto, High A5 - Low A#3/Bb3, Brenda's traditional mother. She is talkative and boisterous. Sings: “(Our) Family Tree”
