SEUSSICAL JR. (The Musical)

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.  Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him.  Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

*Students MUST LIST ALL conflicts with regular rehearsals on audition form. Availability will be a consideration in casting. Absences from rehearsals not previously disclosed will mean removal from parts of or the entire show (except in cases of emergency or illness). There are NO ABSENCES permitted during Mandatory Technical or Dress Rehearsals or Performances.

Mandatory Group Dance Audition: Monday, August 23rd (5:30 pm - 7:30 pm) *Dress comfortably

Acting/Singing Group Auditions (*Pick 1 of 2): Tuesday, August 24 (5:30-7:30pm) OR Wednesday, August 25 (5:30 pm - 7:30 pm) *Sheet Music and Monologue selections will be provided to pick from. *Students should prepare 1 monologue to perform from memory and I vocal selection from materials given. Call for Appointment.

Call Backs: Thursday, August 26 (5:15 pm - 6:15 pm) *By invitation only. An email will be sent Wednesday night for callbacks Thursday.

Cast List Posted: Monday August 30^th 3:30pm via email (first rehearsal to follow Monday Aug 30^th evening 5:30pm-7:30pm)

Regular Rehearsals: Monday & Wednesday evenings (5:30pm-7:30pm) and Saturday morning/afternoons (from 11:30am-1:30pm) August 30th - November 22 *No Rehearsal Sept 4, 6, 15 and November 24, 27

Mandatory Technical Rehearsals: Monday, November 29 & Tuesday November 30 (5:30 pm – 8:30 pm)

Mandatory Dress Rehearsals: Wednesday, December 1 & Thursday, December 2 (5:30 pm – 8:30 pm)

Performances: Friday, December 3^rd 7pm, Saturday December 4^th 2pm and 7pm and Sunday December 8^th at 2pm

Call time is two hours prior to the show.

Production Fee: $135.00 *Due by first rehearsal
