The same crossed my mind at first, but they are giving away almost $2k in prize money. I suppose it could still be a scam if the awards are 'fixed' but in the event the money is given out legitimately (by audience vote, etc) then perhaps many people would risk the $20 at a chance at $1000.

Not only is there no pay for the actor's performance that these so-called organizers will make money off of on the nights of this fiasco, they also expect the actor to pay a 20 dollar entry fee which these scam artists will no doubt line their pockets with, wow that's ballzy. Predators like this continually bleed Cleveland area thespians for their own personal gain, leaving the actor with nothing more than false promises and twenty dollars less in their bank accounts. I'm surprised they didn't dangle the IMDB credit carrot into the post.

This wreaks of the same scam last year posting for a stand up comedian contest, so it appears that greed has again showed its ugly head. I don't know why these scam contests are even permitted on this board, clearly it's only put up here for the poster's profit. This is yet another reason why it's so hard for Cleveland actors to make a living applying our craft in Cleveland.
