Avenue Arts Marketplace & Theatre announces auditions for THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES SYNOPSIS: An Obie Award-winning whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone, THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who "liked to look at it." Directed by: Katie Wells Auditions will take place on January 9th and 10th from 7-9pm Auditioners are asked to prepare a monologue similar to the style of the show and may be asked to cold read from the script. Rehearsals begin January 14th and will generally be held Sun-Thurs. Show dates are Fridays and Saturdays, March 9th-17th. All performances are at 8PM. Performers at Avenue Arts Marketplace and Theatre are considered volunteers and are unpaid.
