LILLIAN PYLES CASTING is casting a short film. "THE EFFECTS" is shooting in Cleveland and airing on SHOWTIME! Theme: WHAT IS POWER IN THEIR COMMUNITY? The short film, ‘THE EFFECTS’, explores how Rosa's mental health and family suffers because her father is unexpectedly threatened with deportation. She faces a critical decision, which will impact the life of her family and community. WE WANT PAID ACTORS ON ALL LEVELS FOR SPEAKING ROLES (some heavier speaking roles & some one liners). Newcomers to seasoned actors welcome to audition. We want veteran actors and new faces!! PRODUCTION DATES: AUDITIONS- Selection to video self tape audition by submission only to theeffectscasting@gmail.com (please submit a current headshot/picture plus updated resume/bio for consideration, sides and taping instructions). Videos due Tuesday 6/25/19 by 10am EST. REHEARSALS- Monday 7/8 thru Thursday 7/18 (your particular character may not have to rehearse all days). SHOOT DATES- Friday 7/19, Saturday 7/20, Sunday 7/21 (your particular character may not have to shoot all 3 days). CHARACTER BREAKDOWN: 1. ANTONIO: 17-19 (Open ethnicity, looks younger) Very outgoing, motivator. Average body – face is always lit up with a comedic kind of look. Dressed in whatever he finds in his closet, usually – black pants & flannel shirt. 2. ROSA: 17’sh – (Hispanic) on the heavier side with a fighting personality, very creative and an out of the box thinker…always seems happy. Very stylish – likes what’s trendy, until she gets depressed, that’s when she stops caring and starts wearing joggers and a tank top. 3. JUAN: 19 – (Hispanic) - Tall and on the thin side with close cut beard, very serious. Very professional and likes to wear dress pants and shirts. Intelligent – kind of a know-it-all personality. 4. HECTOR: 40’s – (Hispanic) -On the heavier side and tall with facial hair. Well put together – wears mostly, jeans and a shirt. Very humble and kind. 5. MARIA: (Mom): MID 30’S – (Hispanic) - More on the thinner side – a strong smile, likes to wear dresses, but mainly wears her work uniform. A very strong woman. WHAT SHE SAYS –STAYS. 6. MAMA: 60’s – (Hispanic) - Average and short. Wears reading glasses with white hair. Likes to take care of everybody. 7. MANUEL: 7-10 – (Hispanic) - Average size, has a shy smile – loves his short pants and shirt – very jumpy. 8. WOMAN #1: (Open ethnicity) Age over 18. 9-10. ICE AGENTS (2): Early 40’s – Big & Husky with a serious face. In uniform – Always in a bad mood and very rude. Any ethnicity. . 11-12 DETENTION GUARDS (2): Early 40’s – Average size, serious, in uniforms. Any ethnicity. 13. CHAD: Late 30’s – Tall, clean face – professional look – wears glasses and wears a tux. Straight to the point and sarcastic. Open ethnicity. 14. PETER: Late 40’s – Clean-cut face with glasses – wears jeans and a shirt. Very optimistic. Open ethnicity. 15. SAMANTHA: Teenager 17-19 (looks younger) – Blonde hair blue or green eyes, likes to wear dresses. Preppy personality. 16. MARC: Late Teens 17-19 – Average with clean-cut beard, dresses in shorts. Has some kind of swag. Any ethnicity. 17. BRANDY: Teenager 17-19 (looks younger) Very shy & skinny with glasses. Wears pants and a shirt. Any ethnicity. 18. VERONICA: 30-40’s, soft spoken tone, runs community center.
