The Tri-C Theatre Department presents *To Kill a Mockingbird * written by Harper Lee, adapted for the stage by Christopher Sergel, and directed by Bob Ellis Nov. 3rd and 4th at 7:30 pm, and Nov. 5th at 1 pm in Playhouse Square’s historic Ohio Theatre This classic story is set in 1935, with Scout and her brother, Jem, being raised by their widowed father, Atticus, and a strong-willed housekeeper, Calpurnia. Rising tensions in the community lead Scout to question the cause. She learns from her father that the tensions stem from his legal defense of a young Negro wrongfully accused of a grave crime. This play explores the racial tensions of the early 20th-century South and applauds the strength of those who fight injustice.
