PARMA CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT 5311 LONGWOOD AVENUE PARMA, OHIO 44134 JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Theatrical Technical Director (Stage Director) – High School REPORTS TO: Building Principal SUMMARY: Responsible for coordinating the lighting, audio reinforcement, and construction and designing of safe, working sets or acquiring and replacing sets or set items for all school-sponsored productions requiring these services, and oversee outside groups utilizing the stage. Hire, supervise, evaluate and train students serving as stage crew and light and sound crew members on the basics of construction, lighting, sound, rigging, stage management, and scenic art 2. Make contact with the public with tact and diplomacy. Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents. Respond to routine questions and requests in a timely, appropriate manner 3. Purchase and maintain appropriate stage tools and equipment 4. Work within budget 5. Be professional with outside groups 6. Be present when outside groups are using the stage to ensure no equipment damage and to supervise and assist with any technical questions 7. Perform other related duties as determined by the building principal QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must meet all requirements of a certificated/licensed teacher REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Basic Carpentry skills 2. Rigging skills 3. Lighting Design skills 4. Painting skills 5. Sound design and operation skills 6. Knowledge of theatre lighting systems 7. Stage management training and skills 8. Financial skills 9. Basic first aid EQUIPMENT OPERATED: 1. Circular saw, table saw, jig saw, hand saw, reciprocating saw, and compound miter saw 2. Corded and Cordless drills 3. All carpentry hand tools 4. Light and sound boards 5. Grinders 6.
