CASTING NOTICE Project Title: Hobby Genre: Comedy, Mockumentary Length: Proof of Concept Shoot dates: TBD, 2-3 days. (Aiming for September) This project is a proof of concept for a feature length film. We will be focusing only on a small portion of the story for this specific shoot. PAY: Yes CHARACTERS: LANA (40s), Lead, Think “Kathryn Hahn” type. Overbearing, eccentric, control freak. Means well, competitive, likes to be the center of attention. Her biggest insecurity revolves around the relationship with her daughter Megan which them causes her to try too hard. She’s desperate for approval from, and desperate to bond with her daughter leading up to her thirteenth birthday. She is convinced that when Megan becomes a teenager she’ll want nothing to do with her anymore. Very colorful. MEGAN (12/13) - Lead, Lana’s daughter. Bold, smart, and sarcastic. Feels overwhelmed my her mom at times but at the end of the day, she doesn’t want to disappoint her. Caring. She has a passionate love for acting and theater which she hopes to actively pursue one day. TERRY (30s-60s) supporting, OPEN ETHNICITY, Owns a bridal tack shop. Sells hobbyhorses to parents as a sort of side hustle. LANE (18), featured, OPEN ETHNICITY. Employee at Terry’s bridal tack shop.
