This week! The Kent Trumbull Theatre is holding auditions for their production of "The Impracticality of Modern Day Mastodons" by Rachel Teagle. AUDITION DATES/TIMES: August 31 & September 1 6pm-8pm SHOW DATES: October 21-23, 28-30 Recommended Ages 15 and up. Suddenly all childhood dreams have come true, and the world is full of astronauts, ballerinas, cowboys, and princesses. It's a brave and glorious new world for everyone but Jess, who wanted to be a mastodon when she grew up. With the help of her friendly vocational adviser and her super-spy boyfriend, Jess embarks on a journey to find her place in the world, and discover why it seems to be unraveling. An offbeat comedy about ambition, vocation, and restlessness. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. All students and community members are welcome to try out. CASTING BREAKDOWN Jess (she/her) - A recent Mastodon. Any Age, Any race/ethnicity, Female/Nonbinary gender. Buster- Part of a very sick child who made a wish. Any age, Any race/ethnicity, Any gender. Clarence/Clint (he/him)- A struggling, pun-making journalist turns hyper-suave super-secret agent. Any age, any race/ethnicity, Male/Nonbinary gender. Delores (she/her)- A cheerful and professional vocational advisor. Any age, Any race/ethnicity, Female/Nonbinary gender. Tracy- A perky newscaster. Any age, Any race/ethnicity, Any gender. Pat- A sophisticated newscaster. Any age, any race/ethnicity, Any gender. All characters aside from Jess will also play numerous smaller roles. We will also be needing puppeteers to help manipulate the Mastodon puppet.
