Produced under the auspices of the Theatre Authority, Inc. and Actors Equity Association.* The King of England, Lear, in preparation for his old age, decides to divide his power and land between his daughters. The two eldest daughters lie and flatter him; his youngest tells him the truth which he ultimately rejects. Lear ultimately becomes destitute and insane, and these actions become the crux of political machinations.
