Cleveland Play House, America's first regional theatre and recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award, seeks an Education Assistant. Under the oversight of the Programs Manager and Director of Education, the Education Assistant will manage and maintain the daily logistical operations of a suite of nine education and life-long learning programs serving 35,000 participants annually. The Education Department is comprised of 13 full-time staff members, 10 contractual teaching artists and an array of guest artists and maintains a significant operating budget. Core responsibilities include: * Leading the maintenance of the department finances. Activities include: oversight and maintenance of AR and AP records, completing department purchases and purchase orders, support of payroll for all contract, oversight of part-time and guest artists within the creating check requests, documenting all department expenses and support of monthly budget meetings. * Working independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects. Acts as project manager for departmental events, including but not limited to all student matinees, Inside CPH events and CPH Academy events. * Scheduling and organizing activities such as meetings, travel, conferences and department activities for all members of the department including Classroom Matinee touring artists. * Acting as a liaison with between program managers and key stakeholders including but not limited to school personal, parents, students and board members. * Organizing and prioritizing information, requests, mail and calls for the department. * Assisting in the collection of data in order to assess program quality and effectiveness, including but not limited to the publication of the department's annual report. * Maintaining departmental calendar. * Establishing, developing, maintaining and updating filing systems for the department. * Assisting Director of Education as needed. * Assisting Director of Education as needed.
