Have you ever wanted to make a film and not sure how to get started? Do you have a great idea for a film but weren't sure how to turn into a screenplay? This community workshop from Short. Sweet. This introductory level workshop will teach you the basics of screenwriting, including: - How to come up with ideas for films - How to turn those ideas into a viable screenplay - How to write a scene - How to develop the structure of your film - Creating believable characters - How to write dialogue - How to write for different budgets, genres, and styles - And more! The workshop will be taught by the founder of the Cleveland Chapter of the International Screenwriters Association <https://networkisa.org>, Mary Davis. Mary has worked in theatre, film, and TV. She studied film at Hunter College in NYC, and was a student of Robert McKee, Bill Persky, John Truby, and Bill Talbot. Mary has also attend workshops at the Museum of Television and Radio and the WGA-East. Mary has produced a Public Access show for Manhattan Cable and her team won the Slide-It Yourself Screenplay Contest from the Syfy Channel.
