Do you struggle with how to promote your work, but feel intimated by social media? In preparation for the 20th annual First Night Akron, the Akronist is holding a series of mobile media workshops at local branches of the Akron-Summit County Public Library. Each hour-long session is a stand-alone class designed to give you an understanding of digital media “on-the-go.” Some of the subjects covered will include: uploading a video from your phone to YouTube, correctly and effectively using hashtags and composing the 140-character caption commonly known as a Tweet. Freelance journalist Yolanda Heisler will lead each workshop. At the end of each session, participants will upload a short video celebrating the 20th anniversary of First Night Akron using #20FirstNights. This class is open to ALL; there are no restrictions.
