Jackie Ryan, white, 23, who speaks a few of his lines with an Irish accent and is seeking help for a deep emotional wound. He tries to be funny, while purging his grief, and is really an edgy guy by '50's Cleveland standards. Dr. Joan Roth, white, 35, a psychologist, who is counseling Jackie. She is very blunt, but in a caring and humorous way. A New York accent would add a certain je n' sai quoi.
