Silver Lining Players presents War of the Worlds!
Silver Lining Players in conjunction with Makeshift Theater is presenting the 1938 Radio Play War of the Worlds. Broadcast by CBS’s Mercury Theatre of the Air on Halloween Eve 1938, this legendary radio play, based on the novel by H. G. Wells, famously had many terrified listeners convinced that an actual alien invasion of Earth was taking place. Adapted by Howard E. Koch, co-writer of Casablanca, and starring Orson Welles, this original script detailed the frightening tale of an extraterrestrial takeover. SLP and MT will be presenting four Saturday/Sunday matinee performances on October 12, 13, 19 & 20 at the Oriana House Training Center at 833 Carroll St. Akron OH 44305.
