Come learn from the professional dancers in the company! *Teen/Adult Modern* * Classes instruct students in modern dance, specifically Hawkins-based Release Technique. Classes begin seated on the floor, progressing to exercises standing in the center and then to movement combinations across the floor. Thursdays 5:30-7pm - Course # S-1 8041 Mondays 5:30-7pm- Course # S-1 8040 Price: $229.00 Ages: 12 and up *Nontraditional Partnering* Thursday night class will focus on the foundations of Nontraditional Partnering, a weight sharing technique where students will be taught: weight into center, weight away from center, morphing, lean becomes lift, and more. They will also explore using this technique to create and develop choreography and may even get to learn sections of Inlet repertoire that feature Nontraditional Partnering. Thursdays 7pm-8:30pm - Course # S-1 8044 Price: $187.00 Ages: 12 and up *Improvisation* Monday night class will focus on the fundamentals of dance Improvisation, where students will learn structures that Inlet Dance Theatre employs when performing improvisation in front of a live audience. Structures include NEWS, Stationary line, Traveling Line, Sculptures, and more. Mondays 7pm- 8:30pm - Course # S-1 8043 Price: $187.00 Ages: 12 and up *10 Class Cards are available for those who would like more flexibility. *Children's Dance Classes* This program is designed to give children well-rounded and developmentally appropriate training. Each class combines Modern Dance techniques with creative problem solving instructions. Children will be guided through exploration of space, music, and movement of the body. Saturdays 11:30am-12:15pm *Level I* - ages 3-5 - Course # S-1 8037 12:30pm-1:15pm *Level II* - ages 6-8 - Course # S-1 8038 In this level, students are introduced to Hawkins-based Release Technique. Students will learn class protocol, the progression of exercises, and how to participate in ensemble. Technique will focus on control, strength, flexibility, and mind-body integration 1:30pm- 2:15pm *Level III*- ages 9-11 - Course # S-1 8039 In this level, students are moved through the Hawkins-based Release Technique progressions. Students will begin to develop core strength, an increased range of motion, coordination, and a strong sense of ensemble.
