Verb Ballets presents a Master Class Workshop with professionals from Cleveland Ballet, Ailey II and Verb Ballets December 29, 2015 at PlayhouseSquare Verb Ballets is excited to offer a Masterclass Workshop on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at PlayhouseSquare in Cleveland. This all-day program includes classes in ballet, jazz and modern dance. Classes will be taught by professionals Pamela Pribisco (Cleveland Ballet), Lloyd Boyd (Ailey II) and Antwon Duncan (former Verb Ballets' dancer). These classes are recommended for all students ages 12+ and are open to all dancers who would like to attend from local studios, colleges or community. Cost is $65 and includes lunch and snacks. Classical Ballet with Pamela Pribisco 10:30-12:00 pm The class will work on grace, precision of movement and elaborate formal gestures, steps and poses. Coordination, strength, flexibility, rhythm and musicality are all emphasized. Emphasis is on correct body placement and developing a love of dance. Modern (Horton) with Lloyd Boyd 12:45-2:15 pm This class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Jazz with Antwon Duncan 2:30-4:00 pm Explore elements of contemporary dance, the unique ways in which the body expresses techniques and focus on movement from the inside out. The class will consist of a warm-up followed by exercises that emphasize extension, release, weight, momentum, and force, culminating in long movement phrases.
