Rabbit Run Theater seeking Costume Designer
Rabbit Run Theater is hiring a Costume Designer Date: November 11, 2019 DEADLINE TO APPLY: January 17, 2020 Job Overview: The Costume Designer (CD) reports to the Executive Director as a production-specific, independent contractor position. Salary range is commensurate with experience, and is highly competitive based on comparable theatres in the region. The CD will have the freedom to operate independently but must have the ability to work closely with the director and season producer. The successful candidate will have the ability to sew, tailor, and work with multiple different periods and styles. RRT has an extensive period costume collection and existing relationships for affordable costume rentals. The CD is expected to work within a specified budget, attend production meetings, schedule measurement appointments and costume fittings with the production stage manager and attend each rehearsal during tech week (typically 6:00 10:30 pm) through Opening Night of each production. The CD is also responsible for any mending or replacement of costumes during the run of each production and for the cleaning and return of any rentals at the end of the production. Weekly cleaning of costumes is handled through an outside source.
