About ABREPASO flamenco: ABREPASO flamenco is Northeast Ohio’s premiere flamenco music and dance company. Our work aims to build new entry points into flamenco, connecting people across differences, and to build new pathways within flamenco, pushing the limits of the artform and its ability to communicate the human experience. Since relocating to Ohio in 2019, we offer a variety of community outreach and education programs for all ages, including free kids classes at the Julia de Burgos CAC, programs in public schools, and an intensive pre-professional program. Director Alice Blumenfeld is nationally recognized for her choreography and abilities in flamenco. She is a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts, a National YoungArts Foundation awardee, a Fulbright Scholar, and a 2020 recipient of an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award in Choreography. She’s grateful to offer the highest quality flamenco dance in Northeast Ohio and for the opportunities to grow Abrepaso right here in Cleveland.
