'The Master's' "Blithe Spirit" coming to CHT

The show will play from Nov. 19 to Dec. 13, 2015. In Blithe Spirit, a ghostly tale from the beloved author of Private Lives, Hay Fever and Present Laughter, a séance by an eccentric local medium (DEDE KLEIN) brings back the mischievous spirit of a man's (SCOTT SHRINER) late wife (TESS BURGLER), much to the displeasure of his current wife (ANJANETTE HALL). The cast also features ERIN MOORE, TIMOTHY CHAMPION and KAREN L. WOOD. (MICHAEL CRANSTON assumes Champion's role of Dr. Bradman for the show's final weekend, Dec. 10-13.) Artistic Director NANCY CATES directs this production. She is a Noel Coward aficionado, having directed many of his plays, including four other shows in the "The Master's" repertoire at Coach House, as well as a production of Blithe Spirit at nearby Weathervane Playhouse in 1998. She had the honor of being included as the only American speaking as an expert on Sir Noël for the BBC Radio series "Soul Music." Blithe Spirit will be presented Nov. 19 to Dec. 13. Curtain times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. There will be no performance on Thanksgiving (Thursday, Nov. 26). There will be a special $12 preview performance Thursday, Nov. 19 only, at 8 p.m. The official opening night is Friday, Nov. 20.
