As an actor, your abilities to know your character and respond in the moment are crucial. Many actors have booked multiple jobs based on improvisation that was done in the audition, and many commercial and TV appearances include lines that were improvised on set. Solid improvisation skills have the power to take your career to the next level and under Kathleen’s guidance, each student will learn those integral skills. In this eight-week course we will cover the basics of improv, using improv to make your auditions stand out, and generally being comfortable working without a net. Foundations of Acting https://angelaboehmcasting.com/events/foundations-of-acting/ Thursdays from 09/16/2021 to 11/04/2021 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm Foundations of Acting will break down the techniques that acting was built on and how to incorporate them into your craft. Through interactive exercises and study of scripted material, actors will learn how to deliver dynamic performances, rooted in truth, and brought to life in a way that the writer/director imagines for the role. Instructor, Joe Masi, will stress the importance of bringing “you” to the screen by helping the class use the individuality of each actor to create compelling and strong characters! The class will build upon these foundations as Joe introduces scene study technique to push the actors to create realistic and meaningful truth telling in their work!
