World War I Auditions TONIGHT
*TONIGHT!* Audition tonight at the Massillon Museum for "*Dear Mother & All,*" a play based on several hundred letters to and from World War I soldier Charles Vernon Brown, that are preserved in the Massillon Museum archives. *You do not need to prepare anything- we'll have materials from the play ready for you at auditions!* *AUDITIONS:* Auditions for the Massillon Museum-sponsored rendition of Sandra Perlman’s full-length play, Dear Mother and All, will be held on Monday, August 7, from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m., at the Massillon Museum, 121 Lincoln Way East in downtown Massillon. *ABOUT THE PLAY:* This play, last produced in Massillon in 1988, is the true story of a Massillon soldier in World War I. He and his family, through letter-writing, share the daily ups and downs of life during the “War to End All Wars.” The complete collection of correspondence is part of the Museum's permanent collection. The 2017 production will complement the Museum’s Stark County in the Great War exhibition, which is on view now through Veterans Day weekend. The play is based on letters preserved in the Massillon Museum archives, originally funded by the Ohio Humanities (1989).
