The Players Guild Theatre in collaboration with The Canton Symphony Orchestra will present the semi-staged concert, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME on August 16, 2025 at 7:30PM at Umstattd Hall. Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME showcases the film’s Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by Menken and Schwartz. Peter Parnell’s new book embraces story theatre and features verbatim passages from Hugo’s gothic novel. Auditions for this collaboration will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at The Players Guild Theatre, 6000 Frank Ave NW, North Canton, OH, 44720, in the Fine Arts Building on the campus of Kent State University at Stark. Those wishing to audition should prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre selection, which best showcases their range. Please bring sheet music in the correct key as well as a headshot and acting resume (if available). An accompanist will be provided.
