Trumpet in the Land auditions for summer season
*Trumpet in the Land*, Ohio's longest running outdoor drama, is looking for talented performers and technicians for its upcoming 2023 summer season in New Philadelphia, Ohio. A local audition and technical interviews will be held on Saturday, April 1 st beginning at 10:00 A.M. in the Tuscarawas County Welcome Center located at 124 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia. The summer schedule will also include productions of *Fiddler on the Roof*, *Circus Time* and a Broadway musical revue. Actors, singers, dancers and technicians must be 18 and over. *All positions are **paid.* Now in its 54th season, *Trumpet in the Lan*d outdoor drama – Ohio’s official state play – utilizes all the elements of theatre while retelling the compelling story of Ohio’s first settlement, Schoenbrunn, during the tumultuous Revolutionary War era. Pulitzer prize-winning playwright Paul Green’s script is set in the very hills once traveled by those portrayed in the show at the picturesque Schoenbrunn Amphitheatre in New Philadelphia. Technical applicants must provide a photo and resume of work experience, including references. Available positions include stage manager, carpenter, properties, electrician and costumer. Performers must provide a photo and resume and are asked to prepare a 1-2 minute monologue from any play or musical and 16-32 bars of a song. An accompanist and cd/mp3 player will be provided. A cappella singing is not acceptable. Productions will be directed by Joseph Bonamico with choreography by Bart Herman and music direction by Zachary Rusk. Rehearsals for the summer season will begin June 5th and shows will be performed June 23 - August 19, 2023. Performers also can be considered for the post-summer season, which includes Stephen Sondheim’s *Assassins*, September 8 & 9, and John Mattera’s *Dracula*, October 6, 7, 13, 14.
