Hi, All, Silver Lining Players in collaboration with Makeshift Theater is looking to cast actors 50 years and older for their next production, War of the Worlds! This will be a staged reading as was the original 1938 radio play. Broadcast by CBS’s Mercury Theatre of the Air on Halloween Eve 1938, this legendary radio play, based on the novel by H. G. Wells, famously had many terrified listeners convinced that an actual alien invasion of Earth was taking place. Adapted by Howard E. Koch, co-writer of Casablanca, and starring Orson Welles, this original script detailed the frightening tale of an extraterrestrial takeover.
