If you have any questions: Email Willcodycrosby@gmail.com Please prepare the following: *Please prepare 2 contrasting 32 bar cuts of a song in the style of the show (DO NOT SING FROM THE SHOW), bring sheet music in the appropriate key (accompanist will be provided). *Audition forms will be provided but auditioners are encouraged to fill them out ahead of time and/or bring a resume. Headshots are appreciated but not required(photos will be taken of those without headshots for reference use). *Please bring a list of conflict dates you may have during the rehearsal period. (There will be a read through scheduled on November 20th.) Rehearsals will be held based on actor availability. 4-5 days a week expected. Sunday-Thursday 7-10 No conflicts will be accepted for any performance dates or during tech week. Hudson does not offer union contracts or cast understudies and all performers are volunteers. We will be taking some time off for the winter holiday season. Under a scorching sun for days on end, armed with nothing but hope, humor and ambition, they'll fight to keep at least one hand on a brand-new truck in order to win it. In the hilarious, hard-fought contest that is Hands on a Hardbody only one winner can drive away with the American Dream. Inspired by the true events of the acclaimed 1997 documentary of the same name by S.R. Bindler, produced by Kevin Morris and Bindler. Casting Requirements 6 women and 9 men (Texas accents definitely a plus, unless otherwise noted) to play the following very real characters (ages are approximate and can vary):. Kelli Mangrum: Female, 18-25 (Range: Mezzo-Soprano, A3-E5) A pretty UPS worker with steel ambition and big dreams. Heather Stovall: Female, 20-30 (Range: Mezzo-Soprano, A3-D#5) A flirtatious restaurant hostess. Used to bending the rules and getting away with it. Cindy Barnes: Female, 30-50 (Range: Ensemble/Part Flexible) Former Miss Gregg County, still fond of pageant hair and pastels. Works in Public Relations at the Nissan dealership. Norma Valverde: Female, 30-50 (Range: Low Mezzo, D3-G5) A stout Latina woman, kind and hopeful, quiet until moved by the spirit. Infectious laugh. Virginia Drew: Female, 40-55 (Range: Mezzo-Soprano, G3-C5) A one-time beauty queen settling into middle-age. Janis Curtis: Female, Mid 50-70 (Range: Low Mezzo, D3-Bb4) A tough old bird with sun-burnished skin and missing teeth. Comic and full of integrity. Married to Don. Greg Wilhote: Male, Early 18-25 (Range: Tenor, D3-B4) A cute young man in a baseball cap. Generous and determined. Jesus Pena: Male, 18-25 (Range: Tenor, E3-B4) A hard-working, smart first generation Mexican-American. Slight Mexican accent. Chris Alvaro: Male, 22-32 (Range: Tenor, Ab2-Ab4) Well-built under his hoodie, a pair of aviator glasses conceal his eyes. Military steeliness and hidden vulnerability. Ronald McCowan: Male, 30-50 (Range: Tenor, F3-B4) A good-natured African-American guy with a slight Louisiana accent and a love of Snickers bars. Mike Ferris: Male, 25-40 (Range: Tenor, Eb3-Bb4) Boyishly handsome, wears a cheap tie with a Nascar clip. Questionable ethics. Works at the Nissan dealership. Benny Perkins: Male, 40-55 (Range: Tenor, C#3-G#4) Weather-beaten face, ingratiating grin, and lots of homespun philosophy. Our narrator of sorts. Also a very angry man. Frank Nugent: Male, 35-55 (Range: Bari-Tenor, Eb3-Gb4) Radio personality, a diehard good ole boy dressed in a Stetson. JD Drew: Male, 50-65 (Range: Baritone, G2-D4) A good old boy with pomaded gray hair and a high wattage grin. Virginia’s husband. Don Curtis: Male, Mid 50-65s (Range: Baritone, A2-Bb3) Janis’s Husband, Very supportive to his wife. Will also double as Doctor Stokes.
