ROCKET CITY, ALABAM' coming to Interplay April 28 & 29
Interplay Jewish Theatre presents two staged readings of *ROCKET CITY, ALABAM*', a play by L.A. writer/composer/screenwriter *MARK SALTZMAN*. Performances are* SUNDAY, APRIL 28 at 2 p.m. and MONDAY, APRIL 29 *at 7 p.m., both hosted by* Dobama Theatre*, 2340 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights. *Katia Schwarz directs *a cast of ten: *Sara Bogomolny, John Busser, Nate Homolko, Larry Nehring*, Kristin Netzband*, Laura Perrotta*, Tammy Shanley, Corey Kilpatrick Steele, David Vegh* *and *Bobby Williams.* The synopsis: Shortly after World War II, the U.S. Army placed captured Nazi rocket scientists in the town of Huntsville, Alabama, to manufacture guided atomic missiles. Wernher Von Braun & Friends were not a welcome sight for the town's well-established, but still jittery Jewish community. Was it possible to move past personal anguish with these new neighbors for the sake of economic expedience - and national security? Mark Saltzman, a distinguished writer for stage, screen and TV (with 7 Emmy Awards for his work on *Sesame Street *will attend the Sunday performance. The readings are presented as part of the Holocaust Theatre International Initiative s "Remembrance Readings," organized by the National Jewish Theater Foundation.
