Seeking Full Time Music Director in Chagrin Falls
The Federated Church, located in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, is seeking a full-time Director of Music Ministries. The Federated Church is a vibrant United Church of Christ congregation of approximately 1200 members with strong roots in the Chagrin Valley and the UCC national organization. We are an Open and Affirming congregation with a historically strong music program and interest in diverse musical experiences. The Director of Music Ministries is an integral part of worship planning and execution. The Director oversees the music of the church for all services and conducts two of the church choirs. The Director is also responsible for management of the music ministry budget, recruiting new members to the music ministry of the church, and regular attendance at staff meetings. *Primary Job Responsibilities:* 1. Execute a vision for a comprehensive music ministry with high standards for spiritual commitment and musical excellence. 2. Conduct two adult choirs; includes weekly rehearsals and separate Sunday services for each (Ensemble at 9:00 service, Chancel Choir at 11:00 service). 3. Plan and conduct combined choirs for special services and special music programs; may include paid or volunteer instrumentalists. 4. Oversee other music staff, including organist, bell choir director, and children’s choir director. 5. Work effectively with pastors and other staff to plan and lead rich and vibrant worship experiences and congregational gatherings. 6. Manage music ministry budget, calendar, music library, shared rehearsal spaces, and music ministry communications. 7. Oversee maintenance and care of church’s musical instruments. 8. Secures copyrights as needed for all music usage. 9.
