Beck Center Announces Auditions for BROADWAY BOUND!
Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood, OH is nothing short of thrilled to announce our first auditions in over 18 months! Neil Simon’s *BROADWAY BOUND* will open Beck’s season on September 10th and play through Oct. 3rd. The rehearsal process will begin on August 10th, and the production will be directed by former Beck Center Artistic Director William Roudebush (Beck’s *EQUUS* and *….CUCKOO’S NEST*) *BROADWAY BOUND* will feature venerated character actor *Austin Pendleton* as the Grandfather Ben. While some casting has already occurred for the piece, there will be open calls for the following characters: *Eugene Jerome~~~Now 23 years old, Eugene continues to fulfill his destiny as a comedy writer* *Stanley Jerome~~~Now 28 years old, Stanley is partnering with Eugene in his endeavors* *Blanche Morton~~45 to 55; Kate Jerome’s prosperous sister* *Non-AEA* performers are sought for these three stipended roles. *AUDITION PROCESS * Auditions for these three roles will occur in the following manner. 1. Video Submission (to scotts@beckcenter.org ) Please record either a monologue of your choice OR request a side from the show to be sent for recording. When possible, please also submit a resume’, and if you have one, a headshot. 1. If you are simply unable to do a video submission, actors can be seen by Beck’s Artistic Director on an appointment only basis. Please email the above address to discuss appointment options. CALLBACKS will occur on ZOOM with the production's Director at a date to be announced. Video submission deadline is *Sunday, July 18th*. For in-person audition requests, please contact Scott Spence no later than *Sunday, July 11th* to arrange an audition time.
