*CLEVELAND MUSICAL THEATRE'S* *BROADWAY INTENSIVE SERIES* *SUMMER OF 2017 @ TRI-C* Our summer musical theatre intensive series is designed to provide unparalleled educational opportunities for the rising professional actor. Spanning over three months, each weekend intensive focuses on a different aspect of musical theatre, including *business of theatre*, *audition prep*, and *dance + movement*. This program gives students flexibility to work professionally and continue to train in their area(s) of choice. *Students have the option to attend all three intensives as a series or individually pick their intensives of interest.* *AUDITION PREP INTENSIVE (June 23-25)* *with Broadway's Nick Blaemire (Godspell) & Natalie Weiss (Les Miz)* Work with Broadway performers and CMT creatives on improving your musical theatre audition skillset. In "Acting The Song," "Build Your Rep" and "Vocal Technique," you'll receive new audition material specifically chosen for you, learn how to understand your 'type' and pick smart audition material, individual coaching on your songs with a strong focus on personalizing your acting choices, receive the fundamentals of healthy vocal technique, and more! The weekend will culminate in a "Friends of CMT" concert on Sunday night, featuring the CMT faculty and successful alumni. *BUSINESS OF THEATRE INTENSIVE (July 14-16)* *with Jamibeth Margolis (Casting Director) & Chris Silveri (Talent Manager)* Work with actual Broadway casting directors and agents to learn the ins and outs of the industry. In 'Audition Technique," "Business for Actors," and "Marketing Yourself," you'll learn everything there is to know about the real world of auditioning, including headshots/resumes, finding an agent/manager, what to wear in an audition, how to market yourself in the audition room, self-tape auditions, how to impress the casting director, and so much more. On the final day, students will audition for a panel of artistic directors from major regional theatres and receive personalized feedback. *DANCE + MOVEMENT INTENSIVE (August 14-16)* *with Martín Céspedes (Resident Choreographer) & More TBA* Work with Broadway dancers, professional choreographers and movement directors on mastering the most iconic approaches to dance and movement. You'll learn numbers created by Bob Fosse, Jerome Robbins, and Michael Bennett, discover their unique language for dance, approach acting from physical world with "Viewpoints" and "Laban," explore original Broadway choreography with a Broadway dancer from a hit musical, and much more!
