Performance Dates for Willy Wonka: March 10th-26th Show dates: March 10, 11, 12*, 17, 18, 19*, 24, 25, 26* Friday and Saturday at 7:30, Sunday at 2:00* Show Information: Music and Lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley Adapted for the Stage by Leslie Bricusse and Timothy Allen McDonald Based on the book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl Show Synopsis: Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka follows enigmatic candy manufacturer, Willy Wonka, as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory... or suffer the consequences. Available Roles Willy Wonka The mysterious title character. He is charming, enigmatic, charismatic, and slightly sinister. A chocolatier who guides children and their parents on a tour of his factory. He is looking for someone new to take over his candy empire. Doubling as Candy Man and Phineous Trout. Gender: Male (Will accept Male or Female Auditioners) Age: 20 to 55 Vocal range: G2-F4 Mrs Bucket Charlie Bucket's nurturing mother. She is always trying to maintain an energetic positivity. Sings Cheer Up Charlie. Gender: Female Age: 25 to 45 Vocal range: Bb3-F5 (Mrs. Bucket will have a shortened rehearsal schedule) Mr Bucket Charlie Bucket's nurturing father. He is always trying to maintain an energetic positivity. Sings Think Positive and Cheer Up Charlie. Gender: Male Age: 25 to 45 Vocal range: B2-F4 (Mr. Bucket will have a shortened rehearsal schedule) About the Director Will C. Crosby -- Originally from Lakewood, Will has worked all over the Cleveland area as an Actor, Director, and Stage Manager. Most recently Will was seen as Prince Herbert/ Not-Dead-Fred in Weathervane's production of Monty Pythons Spamalot. Other notable roles include Smee in Peter and the Starcatcher (Weathervane), Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls(Olmstead Performing Arts), William Barfee in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Huntington Playhouse) and the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz (CAMEO.) Will worked as the Director of the Garfield Middle School drama program in Lakewood, as well as directed for this year's 8x10 TheaterFest at Weathervane.
