Opening tomorrow, Apr 23 - Faustus' Apology for 3 performances only!
OPENING TOMORROW FOR ONE WEEKEND ONLY! Robert Hawkes is Dr. John Faustus at convergence-continuum in AN APOLOGY FOR THE COURSE AND OUTCOME OF CERTAIN EVENTS DELIVERED BY DR. JOHN FAUSTUS ON THIS HIS FINAL EVENING by Mickle Maher. Robert Hawkes performs an ingenious one-man retooling of the Faust legend, with Ray Caspio as the silent and menacing Mephistopheles. One weekend only: Thursday-Saturday at 8 pm, April 23, 24, 25. Faust, a skittish, self-aggrandizing schmuck facing his final hour on earth delivers an extravagant, hilarious, and ultimately unnerving monologue about the sublime meaninglessness of nearly all human endeavors. A lean, tragicomic version of the Faust story, AN APOLOGY . presents Doctor Faustus in the last hour of his final night on earth irritated, whining, drunk, and repentant of nothing save his failure to keep a proper diary. Over the course of the evening, he rails against his silent servant Mephistopheles and tells the fantastic tale of his lifea life filled with wonders, as well as an immeasurably vast evil. At the Liminis theater, 2438 Scranton Rd, Cleveland 44113 in the historic Tremont neighborhood, April 23-25. Tickets: $15 general admission, $12 seniors, $10 students. Reservations at http://www.convergence-continuum.org or 216-687-0074.
