*Research Dramaturg * Classification: Independent Contractor Term of Employment: December 15, 2020, through January 30, 2021 The position can be done remotely. Reports to: Literary Manager & Resident Dramaturg Cleveland Play House (CPH) is seeking a *Research Dramaturg *to conduct research for a new play set in Cleveland, OH in the 1860s, 1980s, and 2010s. Research will focus on: Sara Lucy Bagby, history and current landscape of Cleveland’s Black communities, and images of Cleveland past & present. Research Dramaturg will be responsible for meeting with playwright via phone or Zoom to discuss research queries, identifying and following up on research leads and/or contacts, and compiling research in a clear, engaging, and accessible format that can inform and inspire. Ideal candidate will either be based in Northeast Ohio and/or have a strong understanding and knowledge of the region and Cleveland in particular.
