Final Weekend of “Lost in Yonkers” at Western Reserve Playhouse!
Western Reserve Playhouse has opened its 2018 season by presenting Neil Simon’s Lost in Yonkers, which will conclude its run February<x-apple-data-detectors://1> 9 & 10. By America’s great comic playwright, this memory play is set in Yonkers in 1942. Bella is thirty-five years old, mentally challenged & living at home with her mother, stern Grandma Kurnitz. As the play opens, ne’er-do-well son Eddie is financially strapped & taking to the road as a salesman. He deposits his two young sons on Grandma’s doorstep - where they are left to contend with her, Bella & her secret romance & with Louie, her brother, a small-time hoodlum - in a strange new world called Yonkers. Keith Stevens directs this heartwarming comedy. The cast stars talented young actors Robbie Rush & James Patrick, along with seasoned professionals Shani Ferry & August Scarpelli, as well as OCTA recipients Beth Gaiser & Jay Hill. Rounding out the ensemble is award-winning local luminary Harriet DeVeto.
