2022 Rabbit Run Theater Auditions
DATE: February 15, 2022 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Auditions for Rabbit Run Theater's 2022 Summer Season MADISON, OH - Audition appointments are now being taken for the 2022 summer season at Rabbit Run Theater in Madison, Ohio. The productions for the summer are "The Belle of Amherst", "Titanic, the Musical", "Disney's Newsies, the Musical" and "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" as well as the Youth Production "Junie B. Jones, Jr., the Musical". "Titanic, the Musical" (Ensemble Version), with story and book by Peter Stone and music and lyrics by Maury Yeston, runs from June 24 through July 9. The production is directed by Brint Learned. Musical direction is by Danielle Jones and choreography is by Hannah Hrutkay. There are multiple roles available for men and women, ages 15 and up. Winner of five Tony Awards, "Titanic, the Musical" is an account of the first and last days of this ship of dreams. Told through some of the real life characters, this production grips the heart with its depth of human passion and courage. "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" is a musical comedy with book and lyrics by Robert L. Freedman, music and lyrics by Steven Lutvak and is based on a novel by Roy Horniman. The show is directed by Brint Learned with musical direction by Jonathan Gordon and runs from Aug. 12 through Aug. 27. There are multiple roles available for men and women, ages 15 and up. "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" tells the story of commoner Monty Navarro who is eighth in line for an earldom in the D'Ysquith family. Monty seeks to knock off his unsuspecting relatives without being caught to become the ninth Earl of Highhurst. Auditions for "Titanic, the Musical" and "A Gentleman's Guide" are Friday, Mar. 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 27 from 1 to 5 p.m. "Disney's Newsies, the Musical" follows the tale of charismatic newsboy Jack Kelly as he and his fellow newsies rally to clash with New York City's titans of publishing to fight for their rights. Set at the turn-of-the-20th century and inspired by a true story, "Disney's Newsies" is packed with dance numbers and a family-friendly message. Alan Menken composed the music for "Disney's Newsies"; Jack Feldman wrote the lyrics, and the book was written by Harvey Fierstein. There are numerous roles available, male and female, ages 15 and up. The production dates are July 22 through Aug. 6. Auditions for "Disney's Newsies" are Friday, Mar. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 20, from 2 to 6 p.m. The Youth Production, "Junie B. Jones, Jr., the Musical" features young actors, ages 7 through high school. With book and lyrics by Marcy Heisler and music by Zina Goldrich, the production is adapted from the "Junie B. Jones" series of books by Barbara Park and runs from July 14 through July 16. "Junie B. Jones, Jr., the Musical" centers on the first day of school as six-year-old Junie navigates the ins and outs of being a first grader. The show is directed and musically directed by Molly Lorek. Auditions for "Junie B. Jones, Jr." are Friday, Mar. 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. as well as Sunday, Mar. 6 from 2 to 6 p.m. The first production of the summer, "The Belle of Amherst" is precast. Video auditions will be accepted for those who are not able to make the regular audition dates. A video audition should include a vocal audition with 16 measures of a Broadway-style song with piano accompaniment. Actors auditioning should prepare to sing 16 measures of a Broadway-style song from memory. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist in a binder. No pre-recorded accompaniment or CD tracks. No monologue need be prepared as actors will read sides from the script. Actors should dress business casual (jeans are acceptable, no sweatpants).
