CASTING CALL for NON-UNION comedy film, “PAPER MAN” Written by Alex Town Directed by Brian Lachowski Produced by Sarah Bene LOGLINE: After the last remaining newspaper company closes down, a 50-year-old paperboy is forced to adapt to the world of technology in order to provide for himself and his even older father. SELF-TAPE AUDITION DEADLINE: November 26th IN-PERSON AUDITION DATES: November 25th from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm & November 26th from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. AUDITION LOCATION: CSU’s School of Film and Media Arts - room number will be given out upon confirmation ROLES: - Johnny (Male/50s): Lead Protagonist. A naive, yet ambitious middle-aged paperboy is faced with working at an electronics store when the local paper is shut down. Has a positive outlook on life. Has wholesome intentions to help people. Johnny is timid by nature and has childlike qualities. He has to overcome his untethered desire to be the paperboy and struggles with his lack of knowledge about the world of electronics to succeed at his new job. - Dad (Male/70s): Supporting Role. Johnny’s father who is as sweet as can be. Extremely supportive of anything that Johnny does. He’s a Walmart employee that has trouble making ends meet with his son as he too struggles with understanding electronics. - Mrs. Wilkerson (Female/70s) Supporting Role. One of Johnny’s neighbors that wants the best for him. She owns her own delivery business and does what she can to keep up with the ever-changing electronic industry - Frank: (Male/40s): Supporting Role. Johnny’s slobbish boss whose looks reflect the state of the newspaper industry. Frank hates that he has to disappoint Johnny more than actually shutting down his paper business.
