When forced to hide in the convent, she initially refuses to embraceher new lifestyle but learns to embrace it when she works with the choir.Loud-mouthed, and sassy, but ultimately caring. Strong Belt. E3 to F#5 Mother Superior: Female, late 40s-late 60s; Thehead of the convent, sarcastic and a bit stiff. Extremely protective aboutkeeping her sisters away from the outside world, which puts her in directopposition to Deloris and her musical teachings. D3 to E5 Curtis: African American Male, 30s-40s; A clubowner, notorious gangster, and Deloris's boyfriend. Cocky and controlling,always on the verge of violence. A2 to Ab4 Eddie Souther: African American Male, mid 20s toearly 40s; The desk chief at the Philadelphia police station and a high schoolclassmate of Deloris who helps get her into hiding. Faces a lot of nerves whenunder pressure, causing him to sweat profusely. He still yearns for Delorisafter all these years, and dreams of being her hero. Strong Belt. Ab2 to B4 Sister Mary Robert: Female, 16-20s; A postulant,abandoned as a baby and raised at the convent. Shy and soft-spoken, but singingwith Deloris lets her find her voice. Her wallflower lifestyle has made herlive a shell of a life. Strong Belt. F#3 to A5 Sister Mary Patrick: Female, late 20s-late 40s; Anun of the convent. Consistently perky, “glass is always half full”,enthusiastic, and easily excitable. Monsignor O’hara: Male, late 30s-60s; One of theheads of the convent. Constantly concerned with financial matters, though soulmusic surprisingly puts him in a different mood. E3 to G4 Sister Mary Lazarus: Female, late 20s-late 60s; Anun of the convent and the head of the choir. Rather deadpan and the leastwelcoming of any of the nuns, but she gets caught up in Deloris's performancestyle. Raps. F3 to B4. TJ: African American Male, late Teens – 30s;Curtis's nephew and one of his thugs. Deft and cognizant of the fact,constantly in a state of ignorant bliss. Db3 to Eb5 Joey: Male, 20s-40s; One of Curtis's thugs.Believes himself to be quite the ladies' man. Bb2 to Eb5 Pablo: Male, 20s-40s; One of Curtis's thugs. Anatural follower, constantly speaks in Spanish. C4 to F5 Ernie: Male, 20s-40s; One of Curtis's thugs.Initially thought to be a mindless yes-man, he turns out to be an undercoverpolice informant. Sister Mary Martin-of-tours: Female, 20s-50s; Anun of the convent. Clearly in her own world, “a few bubbles off”, but has hermoments of surprising clarity. Sister Mary Theresa: Female, 40s-early 70s; A nunof the convent, the oldest of the group. Decrepit at a glance, but secretlypacks a punch. Michelle: Female, 20s-40s; One of Deloris'sback-up singers. Lippy and always quick with a retort. Bb3 to F5 Tina: Female, 20s-40s; One of Deloris's back-upsingers. A little thick-headed and naive. Ab3 to F5 Ensemble: Male & Female, 20s-50s; Nuns, Cops,Hookers, Newscasters, Bar Denizens, Waitresses, Pool Players, Drag Queen,Homeless, Fantasy Dancers The Players Guild has produced over 600productions for more than 2,000,000 audience members spanning severalgenerations. AUDITIONS CABARET - Canton Players Guild Theatre FEBRUARY 12th & 13th, 2017. NO Rehearsal February 19th – February 24th. The production is scheduled to open March 31st and will run through April 15th, with performances on Fridays & Saturdays @ 8:00PM and Sundays @ 2:00PM DIVERSE AND NON-TRADITIONAL CASTING WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR ALL ROLES. All roles are available; please see the character breakdown below. Please prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song that best shows off your vocal ability. Caters to the desires of both men and women. Very comfortable with his sexuality. Demonstrates a commanding stage presence, comedic, and lovable. Tenor. Sally Bowles: Female, late 20s-40s; British headliner at the Kit Kat Klub. Quirky, gritty, beautifully broken and haunted by the dark reality of her chosen lifestyle. Mezzo with strong belt. Cliff Bradshaw: Male, late 20s-40s; American novelist yearning for inspiration. Longing to find purpose, companionship, and his true voice. Bari-Tenor. Fraulein Schneider: Female, late 40s-late 60s; German landlady with a benevolent heart. Very aware and anxious of the social turmoil rising in Berlin. Alto. Herr Schultz: Male, late 40s-late 60s; Jewish proprietor of a local fruit shop. A romantic who has become smitten of Fraulein Schneider despite the racial tension. Baritone. Ernst Ludwig: Male, late 20s-50s; friendly and likable German who befriends Cliff. Later revealed to be Nazi. Tenor. Fraulein Kost: Female, late 20s-40s; A coy and self assured prostitute who rents a room from Fraulein Schneider. A Nazi sympathizer. Mezzo. KIT KAT GIRLS: Rosie, Lulu, Frenchie/Gorilla, Texas, Fritzie/Fraulein Kost, Helga; Females, late teens – 40s; entertainers and escorts at the Kit Kat Klub. Extremely comfortable in their own skin and with their sexuality. KIT KAT BOYS: Bobby, Victor, Hans, Herman/Max: Males, late teens – 40s; entertainers and escorts at the Kit Kat Klub.
