The Fine Arts Association announces auditions for Young Frankenstein Stage Adaptation by Mel Brooks Based on the Original Screenplay by Mel Brooks Music and Lyrics by Mel Brooks Book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan Director: David Malinowski Music Director: Alex Ulle Choreographers: Jen Boehmer Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced "Fronk-en-steen") inherits his family's estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor (pronounced "Eye-gore"), and a leggy lab assistant, Inga (pronounced normally), Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. "It's alive!" he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather's. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds. Auditions: Monday/Tuesday, August 12 & 13, 2024 beginning at 6:30 pm in Corning Auditorium - Appointments needed. Rehearsals begin – Sunday, August 18, 2024 Rehearsals will GENERALLY be Mondays thru Thursdays 6:00/6:30-10:00 p.m. & Sundays 1:00-5:00 pm Casting Information: * Needed: Cast of approximately 20 - 25 * All roles are available, 8+ principal/featured roles plus ensemble * All roles are open to the RIGHT person, regardless of age, gender, race, etc. * Auditions are open to all actors ages 16 to adult. NOTE: Due to the adult nature of the show, anyone under the age of 18 will need an adult’s signature. * No AEA contracts available for this production. Audition Requirements: * Come prepared with 16-32 bars of a song in the style of the show. * Bring sheet music in the proper key. * An accompanist will play for all auditioners. * Bring a detailed list of your conflicts beginning August 18, 2024. This includes any school or work activities/events, sports activities/events and classes that would cause a missed scheduled rehearsal. All cast members must be available for tech week (September 21 - 26) * Please bring a headshot (school picture or snapshot will do). * Résumés will be accepted (not required) .
