JOB POSTING: CPH SUMMER CAMPS DIRECTOR
*JOB NOTICE* *Summer Camp CAMPS DIRECTOR * *Cleveland Play House* *CLASSIFICATION:* Full-Time Hourly, 6 hours/day, Monday through Friday (10:30 am- 4:30 pm) *CONTRACT START:* As soon as possible, but no later than June 1, 2021 *CONTRACT END: * August 6, 2021 *COMPENSATION: *$27.50 per hour *REPORTS TO: *Director of Community Programs and Partnerships *SUPPORTS:* Summer staff working at CMSD sites *JOB OBJECTIVE:* Cleveland Play House will work with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District to provide a safe summer experience for children. There will be two sessions: June 6th -July 2nd and July 12th- August 6th, 5 hours a day, Monday through Friday. This position will begin on June 1st, with a week of planning and training (June 1 – 4) before the beginning of the camp, and a week of planning between the two summer sessions (July 5th-July 9th) The CAMPS DIRECTOR will provide oversight and support to all summer staff and program partners to ensure success in the daily operations of five site-specific summer camps (Jamison, Stevenson, Orchard, Halle, Almira.) The CAMPS DIRECTOR will also take a lead role in implementing professional development, training and preparation of summer staff for both sessions. The CAMPS DIRECTOR will contribute to a safe and positive culture and climate through the use of trauma-informed principles and practices. The CAMPS DIRECTOR will take a restorative justice approach in resolving disputes and conflicts. The CAMPS DIRECTOR will be culturally responsive to the needs of all key stakeholders and embrace Equity, Diversity and Inclusion principals to create a sense of belonging for all. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES · Support daily needs of site coordinators across five sites, including the management of staff absences, distribution of supplies, observation of site-staff. · Support daily needs of students to ensure successful program. · Support daily needs of families to ensure successful program. · Work with HR director to ensure COVID-19 protocols and safety requirements are met. · Help maintain the order in the summer camps. · Help tracking accurate daily attendance of children at the camp. · Support field trips through organization and planning. *CORE REQUIRED SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES, AND KNOWLEDGE:* · Current proof of fingerprinting clearance through the Federal and Ohio State Department of Education is required for employment. · Passionate about working with children and youth. · Exhibit a strong commitment to working with educators and children. · Previous experience in summer camps is a plus. · Teaching and/or coaching experience with diverse age groups and experiences. · Demonstrated ability to work sensitively with diverse people and communities. · Preferable Bilingual in English and Spanish, but not required. *TO APPLY:* If interested please email a letter of interest and resume to Derek Green dgreen@clevelandplayhouse.com
