Opening This Weekend: “Love at a Distance” at WRP
Western Reserve Playhouse presents: “Love at a Distance: A Festival of Virtually New Works about Love and Marriage” A Night of Five Comedies by New Playwrights Show Dates: May 21, 22, 28, and 29, 2021 SYNOPSIS: Wedding season is upon us once again, but after a year in isolation, things feel a little different. Join us for a night of wacky comedic one-acts all about the proposal, the planning, and the happily ever after… maybe. WRP will be presenting a festival of new works, featuring our playwrights as much as our actors, in one last virtual celebration of love, and everything that can go wrong with it. Tickets will be $15 per viewer, and this performance will be pre-recorded, edited, and released May 21, 22, 28, and 29, at 7:30pm. “Mixmatched.com” (Jeff Yamokoski) shows perhaps the worst first date that somehow has a happy ending. The bride-to-be has too much wine and gives herself some horrible bangs in “Nothing Good Happens After Midnight” (Laurie Allen). A mother and father have very conflicting views on their daughter’s “non-traditional” ceremony in “Beach Wedding” (Vivian C. Lermond). “The ___ Wedding” (Josh Downing) shows a mother who just can’t accept her son marrying another man. And finally, “Happily Maybe After” (Zachary L. Manthey) shows Prince and Princess Charming in couple’s therapy after a horrific marriage. Our wonderful directors are Keith Stevens, Dawn Sniadak-Yamokoski, Chris Bizub, Kevin Kelly, and Daniel Hunsicker. Actors are, in order of appearance, Shani Ferry, Jay Hill, and Bernadette Hisey; Ben Arrington, Rose Gabriele Foti, Hannah Hilty, and Vince Sarowatz; Dennis Runkle and Valerie Young; Brian O. Jackson, Jordan Potter, and Susan Wagner; and Chris Bizub, Nathan Ott, Mia Radabaugh, and Kelsey Tomlinson. Executive Artistic Director – Dawn Sniadak-Yamokoski * WRP Connect Coordinator – Hannah Hilty MORE INFO AND TICKETS HERE! https://thewrp.org/love-at-a-distance/ -- This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
