CPT's Cleveland Act Now (CAN) Academy After-school In Person Course is accepting applications

You can forward the information below to your social media networks. cleveland PUBLIC theatre Cleveland Act Now (CAN) Academy After-School In-Person Course Phoenix Rising - SENIORS For youth ages 11-14 years old 8-week course on-site at CPT March 28, 2023 - May 18, 2023 Tuesdays and Thursdays FREE Application Deadline: Wednesday, March 22, 2023 WHO CAN Academy is geared towards Cleveland residents; however, non-Cleveland residents are welcome to apply. WHAT Taught by CPT Teaching Artist and CAN Academy Site Coordinator Zyrece Montgomery, and CPT Supporting Teaching Artist, Patrick Warner, Phoenix Rising is an in-person, after-school theatre program where youth build an original piece centered around celebrating heritage, championing social justice, seeking hope, and envisioning a brighter future. This session is a devising workshop that provides a platform for youth to build confidence in self-expression, self-discovery, writing, and collaborative storytelling skills. This spring session culminates in an in-person showcase of the young artists' original work as well as a performance in Station Hope, CPT's community-wide May event that celebrates the triumphs of the Underground Railroad and explores contemporary issues of social justice.
