To register by phone call (440) 949-5200 x 221 For further information or to register online visit: http://www.tncarts.org/education/classes-workshops/ *MUSIC CLASSES* *Early Childhood Music - **(Ages 3-5) Tues. 11am – 12pm * Fall Session Sep 22th – Nov 17th, 2015 *Cost – $110* / $55 each add'l sibling / *$25 Annual Membership required* Join childhood music specialist Susan Vance-Koch for Kodaly, Orff-Schulwerk and Dalcroze approaches to rhythm and music. With an emphasis on strengthening the parent/child bond. Mrs. Vance-Koch focuses on instrument improvisation, stimulating, sensory experiences relating to sight, hearing and touch; the development of the voice through singing, chanting and listening, and much more. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Children's Choir* - *(K - 2nd grade) Tues. 4pm-5pm / (3rd - 6th grade) Thurs. 4pm-5pm* Fall Session Sept. 22nd - Dec 5th, 2015 *Cost – $100* / * $25 Annual Membership required* TrueNorth Cultural Arts Children’s Choir offers a unique choral experience. The students develop their vocal skills, learning proper breathing, vocal techniques and vocal posture. They also learn music notation and relative pitch (using the Kodaly method). They gain self confidence through individual performances and experience theatrical productions ( i.e. The Nutcracker). The TrueNorth Children’s Choir allows children to experience all aspects of music and encourages each child’s unique creativity. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *ThinkFun! Chamber Music Ensemble – **(7th – 12th grade) **Sat. 10:30am-12:00pm* Fall Session Sept. 19th – Dec 5th, 2015 *Cost - $150* / *25 Annual Membership required* Led by TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra principal flutist Kim Zaleski and principal cellist Trevor Kazarian, this group of players will be taught the skills to develop into well-rounded musicians and contributing members of their ensemble and surrounding community. Aspiring youth will be coached individually and as a group, learning how to listen to each other, improvisation, what it takes to play in sections, and much more. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *DANCE CLASSES* *Broadway Baby - **(ages 3-5)** Wed. 10:30am-11:30am* Fall Session Oct. 14th – Dec. 9th, 2015 *Cost - $85* / *25 Annual Membership required* This class will focus on (Ages 3-5) and foster a love of dance through creative movement, while introducing the child to the elements of dance such as dance vocabulary, music interpretation, choreography, and more! The goal of the class is to improve motor skills, gain self-control, and encourage a love of movement. *Rising Stars - **(ages 6-10)** Wed. 3pm-4pm* Fall Session Oct. 17th – Dec. 12th, 2015 *Cost - $85* / *25 Annual Membership required* This class is intended for Ages 6-10 and will build upon the student’s existing skill set by expanding dance vocabulary, building core strength, and increasing flexibility through exercises across the floor and center floor. We will explore various choreography styles, create our own pieces, discuss the purpose of dance in musical theatre, as well as learn ballet, jazz, and lyrical combinations. *Shining Stars - **(ages 6-10)** Sat. 4:15pm-5:15pm* Fall Session Oct. 17th – Dec. 12th, 2015 *Cost - $85* / *25 Annual Membership required* This class is for Ages 11-15 and will build upon the student’s existing skill set by expanding dance vocabulary, building core strength, and increasing flexibility through exercises across the floor and center floor.
